Options_instruments_tile

 

Entering and editing Options Master data follows the general pattern of Master data Maintenance.

 

Note: Master data set-up for Option contracts includes currencies, commodities and exchanges in addition to entering Option instruments. These should  be configured before entering Option instruments.

 

To enter or edit Option instrument Master data, select the Setting Tab on the Main Menu, then select the Configuration tile.

From the Configuration menu select the Risk tab and then select the Option instruments tile. This opens the Option instruments screen.

 

To enter a new Option instrument record, select the Add new record button.  An in-line edit box appears.

Fill in the Option instrument information:
oName - The name of the Option instrument
oCurrency - the currency used to for this Option instrument.
oExchange - the exchange name where the future is traded.
oFutures type - the Futures instrument associated with this Option instrument.
oPrice unit - to indicate the currency unit that should be represented (i.e. USc for US cents).  
oPrice unit currency conversion factor - the conversion factor for one of the price units (i.e. 100 for USD).
oPremium unit - to indicate the currency unit that should be represented for any premium (i.e. USc for US cents).  
oPremium unit currency conversion factor - the conversion factor for one of the premium units (i.e. 100 for USD).
oPosition - a position that is automatically allocated with this Option instrument.  Leave the selection blank if automatic allocation should not be done.
oIntegration symbol - used if there is an automatic price feed for the futures instrument.
oJanuary - December -  checked to indicate delivery months of the Option instrument.
oLast trade date close time - the time of day that the market trading this Option instrument closes.
Select Insert to save the record or Cancel to exit without saving.

 

To delete or edit an Option instrument record, use the Edit or Delete button from the command line menu.  

 

Option instrument records can also be uploaded and downloaded using Export to Excel and Import from Excel buttons.
